Area softball teams have busy week
Lady Bears overwhelm Tigers
Byron fast-pitch team was tough as ever on Friday, April 28, when they defeated Lake City, 19-2. Lake City: Kylie Mann, 1 for 1, RBI. Bears enjoy winning week
The Byron softball girls posted a couple of wins last week. On Monday, April 24, they bested Austin, 13-0, and Thursday saw the Lady Bears topple Stewartville, 8-1.
Austin Game: Macy Borowski had everything going for the Byron Bears vs Austin, allowing zero runs and striking out 15 batters, as the Bears won, 13-0. Borowski also drove in 5 runs at the plate with a single in the first, a HR in the second, and a double in the third. The Bears had 11 hits in total, with Borowski, Leeah Strain, Lindsey Schultz, and Tallie Behrens, all having multiple hits.
Stewie Game: Once again, Macy Borowski led the way for the Bears, with an 8-1 win over a tough Stewartville opponent. She drove-in 4 runs, with 2 HR, on the offensive side; and on the hill, Macy fanned 16 Tigers in 7 innings work. The Bears scored 1 run in the first, 4 runs in the second, and 3 runs in the 4th, to put the Tigers away for good. Tallie Behrens hit her first HR of the season, with a 2-run shot in the second. Leeah Strain had a nice day offensively, going 1-3 with a single, RBI, SB, and BB.
Hayfield girls split the week
The Lady Vikings earned a split decision last week. On Tuesday, April 25, the girls lost to Pine Island, 11-9, and on Thursday, Hayfield bounced back with a resounding 15-3 victory over Medford.

K-M softball girls sweep double-header
Traveling all the way from Itasca County in northern Minnesota, the Greenway Raiders brought good competition to Kasson-Mantorville. However, the KoMets, being as gracious as they could be, went ahead and swept the twin bill. The girls took two from the Greenway Raiders on Saturday, April 29. Game one was 6-2, and the final game final tally was 3-0.

Triton softball girls have busy week
It was a fun but hectic week for the Triton softball team. On Monday, April 24, the girls lost to Waterville-Elysian-Morristown, 11-7. Tuesday, the Lady Cobras fell to Maple River, 10-7, and Thursday, the Triton kids lost a tight one to United South Central, 3-2.
