Byron School Board approves support staff agreement
Byron’s School Board approved the 2024-2025 support staff agreement during its most recent meeting.
Superintendent Mike Neubeck noted that support staff do not belong to a union.
As part of the agreement, it will include a sick leave incentive pay program.
For employees who work four hours, but less than 30 hours a week will receive a $250 stipend at the end of the year for using zero, one, or two sick or Earned Safe and Sick Time with no use of unpaid days.
“Employees working 30 or more hours per week will receive a $350 stipend at the end of the year for using zero (0), one (1), or two (2) sick or ESST days with no use of unpaid days,” the agreement states. “All employees working 30 or more hours per week for twelve months will receive a $550 stipend at the end of the year for using zero (0), one (1), or two (2) sick or ESST days with no use of unpaid days and $350 for using three (3) or four (4) sick or unpaid days. Employees must have worked one full school year to qualify.”
In terms of salaries, assistant groundskeepers will make between $14.84 and $22.04 an hour, non-licensed custodians will make between $17.10 and $24.25 an hour, and lead groundskeeper and lead custodian will make between $19.51 - $37 an hour.
Technology specialists will make between $21.75 and $28.25 an hour, and Information Systems Technicians will make between $22.09 and $29.29 an hour.
