Mantorville’s Fall Festival Oct. 28
Mantorville’s Fall Festival is just a week away.
The annual event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 28, featuring a full day of fun events.
Before the actual event, children and adults are invited to enter the Fall Festival Coloring Contest.
There are categories for ages 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, and adults. Coloring sheets can be picked up at County Seat, Mantorville Square or the Mantorville Art Guild. They can also be printed from the event Facebook Page. Colored sheets should be turned in by Oct. 27 at Mantorville Square.
Festival day gets started with the Haunted Hustle 5k and 1-mile-fun run, sponsored by Dodge Refreshed. The 5k starts at 9 a.m. and the 1-mile-run at 10 a.m. Both races begin and end at Clay and 4th Streets.
Costumes are encouraged and there will be prizes for the best costumes.
Following the Haunted Hustle, the Farmers Market opens at 10 a.m. at Riverside Park and continues until 4 p.m. The Old School Café will be open for breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. They will also be selling Halloween Cookie Kits throughout the day. Costumes will be on sale at Mantorville Square from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A variety of activities begin at 11 a.m. at the Greek Revival House including the free Ghost Tour Hay Wagon Ride, Rookie the Clown and his balloon art, Face Painting by Nancy, and Ring Toss. The hay wagon rides, Rookie the Clown, and Ring Toss continue until 3 p.m. Face Painting continues until 2 p.m.
Food trucks will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. County Seat will have treats for kids from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Coloring pages will be on display from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and prizes will be awarded.
The Mantorville Art Guild will have free pumpkin painting for kids from noon to 3 p.m., while pumpkin supplies last.
There will be historic home and log cabin tours from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Mantorville Restoration House. The Dodge County Historical Museum will also be open from 1 to 4 p.m.
The Pet Costume Contest will begin at 2 p.m. at the Greek Revival House.
Prizes will be awarded for Best Dog, Best Cat, Best Other Pet, Scariest, Funniest, and Most Original.
Mantorville Theatre Company will present their dinner theater play, “Not Another Zombie Apocalypse” at 6:30 p.m. at the Opera House.
The day concludes with a Halloween Party and Costume Contest at the Mantorville Saloon from 8 p.m. to midnight with DJ Big Toni.
