Hy-Vee opening set for Nov. 17

The new Hy-Vee in Kasson will officially open for business at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, for a grand opening. Hy-Vee officials confirmed next week’s opening earlier this week.

According to corporate officials, the more than 35,000-square-foot store will offer a full selection of grocery items; a Wall of Value; a full-service meat department and bakery; a health and beauty-care department; a small housewares section and a floral section with grab-and-go floral bouquets.

Additional amenities include a pharmacy; Hy-Vee Market Grille Express with a seating area for fast-casual dining; Hy-Vee Aisles Online grocery services; and self-checkout lanes.

The location will offer 24,491 total items; 1,676 specialty items; 1,650 HealthMarket items; and 330 fresh produce items, including 85 organic items.

The opening of the new Kasson Hy-Vee will create 123 local jobs, including 29 full-time positions, company officials said. Hy-Vee is currently looking to fill positions at this location. Interested applicants can search positions and apply at Hy-vee.com/careers.

The store will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.

The new store is located at the location of the former Erdmans County Market location at 19 2nd Ave. NW. Kasson.

Erdmans County Market operated in Kasson for 95 years until it closed Sept. 30. Hy-Vee officially closed on the deal to purchase the grocery on Oct. 1. They have spent the time since then remodeling the store into a Hy-Vee.

Hy-Vee, Inc. is an employee-owned corporation operating more than 275 retail stores across eight Midwestern states with sales of $11 billion annually. The supermarket chain is synonymous with quality, variety, convenience, healthy lifestyles, culinary expertise and superior customer service, officials said. Hy-Vee ranks in the Top 10 Most Trusted Brands and has been named one of America’s Top 5 favorite grocery stores. The company’s more than 85,000 employees provide “A Helpful Smile in Every Aisle” to customers every day, officials said.
