Doris Biel celebrates 100th birthday

It was party time last Friday at Prairie Meadows Senior Living as Doris Biel celebrated her 100th birthday.
Her actual birthday was Saturday but fellow residents and staff at Prairie Meadows observed the day Friday, while family members gathered for a party on Saturday.
Biel’s day got off to a fun start when youngsters from the nearby day care center stopped over to sing Happy Birthday. The noon lunch included a birthday cake and a special letter she received from Minnesota Governor and Vice-Presidential Candidate Tim Walz. Prairie Meadows staff said a lunch at the Hubbel House was also scheduled for a later date.
