Claremont’s Hogfest August 4-6
Summer fun moves to Claremont the first weekend in August with the city’s annual Hogfest celebration.
Activities get underway on Friday, August 4, at 5 p.m. when the food vendors OPEN and beer sales begin. Outhouse races are also scheduled for 5 p.m. followed by Garden Tractor Pulls and the announcement of the first Medallion Hunt clue at 6 p.m.
From 7 to 11 p.m. there will be a street dance featuring Them Pesky Kids.
It’s a full day of activities on Saturday, August 5, beginning will breakfast burritos from 8 to 11 a.m. and a bake sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a craft sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There will be a Bloody Mary bar from 9 a.m. to noon with beer sales beginning at 10 a.m. Food vendors will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Other activities on Saturday include antique tractor pulls at 9 a.m., Coins in the Sand at 10 a.m., Rad Zoo from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Bean Bag Tournament beginning at noon and a Petting Zoo from Gochnauer Farms from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Yammy Bear will be in town from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and Rookie the Clown from 2 to 4 p.m. There will be a free gaming trailer from 2 to 6 p.m.
The always popular Mudbogs begin at 3 p.m. followed by a Sweet Corn and Pork Feed from 4 to 7 p.m. Evening entertainment includes a street dance from 7 to 11 p.m. featuring Danglers.
Hogfest concludes on Sunday, August 6, with a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon as well as a Car/Bike and Antique Tractor Show the same hours.
The craft sale continues Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Food vendors open at 9 a.m. and continue through 2 p.m. with beer sales from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The parade starts at 1 p.m., followed by the Fireman’s Water fight.
All events are held downtown in Claremont.
