Inspiring young athletes to change the world

One K-M grad is now spending his time working with a company that he hopes will someday eradicate malnutrition in children around the world.

Tony Morrow, who graduated from Kasson-Mantorville High School in 2011, was one of more than 100 people who took a trip to Mexico this August. Morrow works for EvolvHealth, a social business that he explains as being similar to TOMS Shoes model of donating a pair of shoes for every pair it sells.

During the first trip to Mexico, the organization hauled tons of supplies to donate to orphanages and hungry children. Morrow and his fellow travelers also had the chance to meet Vicente Fox and his wife Marta, who have worked to improve the lives of children in Mexico. The company solidified their partnership with the couple. The Foxes also run a charity to help kids and orphanages called Vamos Mexico.

“That’s where their heart is at with their country,” Morrow said.

For malnourished kids, the company also has a product that they donate called the Hope Blend. A gram of the powder can nourish a child for a day by being mixed into whatever kind of food they would normally eat.

“It’s not culturally significant,” Morrow said. “It can go in any type of food, whether it’s rice, whether it’s beans, whether it’s noodles, whether it’s beef.”

Morrow hopes that his company can reach its goal of eradicating malnutrition, which kills
