Tools for caregiving program offered in Byron
A “Powerful Tools for Caregiving” program is being offered at Madonna Summit in Byron, Thursdays, May 25 through June 29.
The six-week workshop will help anyone caring for an older friend or relative whether it is at home, in a nursing home or across the country. Powerful Tools for Caregiving is an evidence-based programs that helps caregivers develop tools to:
Reduce Stress
Change negative self-talk
Communicate more effectively
Recognize the messages in emotions
Make tough caregiving decisions
The sessions will meet from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Madonna Summit, 551 Byron Main Ct. NE.
The workshop fee is $60 and includes a caregiver help book. Financial assistance is available for those who quality. Respite care may be available with advance notice.

The program is offered by Elder Network and is funded in part by the SEMN Area Agency on Aging and the Byron Community Foundation. Elder Network is a non-profit organization with services available to all eligible persons regardless of race, color, sex, religion, disability or national origin.
