BREAKING NEWS: Second person dies in Dodge County fog crash
A second person from Dodge Center has died from injuries she sustained in a freak fog-related crash in Dodge County on Dec. 30.
Friends have confirmed that Erin Brose, 46, died Sunday night at a Rochester hospital. She had been fighting for her life for nearly two weeks after being critically injured when she stopped to assist with a traffic crash on County Road 24 in Dodge County during heavy fog on Dec. 30.
Another woman, Scarlett Tanner, 32, of West Concord, died at the scene. They were both hit by a truck that swerved to miss the crashed vehicles in the roadway, but instead hit them, Sheriff Scott Rose said. The truck had been driven by Ryan Thoe of Kasson. He was not injured. A driver in the original crash received non-life threatening injuries.
Brose leaves behind a husband and two children.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash.
Funeral arrangements for Brose are pending with Brick-Meger Funeral Home in Owatonna.
