Nine KoMets win titles at K-M Invitational
A week ago, the Kasson-Mantorville wrestling team showed plenty of potential when they took second at the Winona Invite. With six individual champions, the KoMets had plenty to build on as they moved on to face Triton in a HVL dual and hosting the K-M invite on Saturday afternoon.
The results were outstanding as the KoMets defeated Triton 67-12 on Friday night and saw nine wrestlers take home championships on Saturday. Such a start has K-M head coach Jamie Heidt excited for what could be in store as the season moves along.
The dual against Triton was a quick one as only seven matches took place due to forfeits. Matthew Harfmann defeated Dylan Baker via technical fall in the 106-pound class and Jace Minelli defeated Kaleb Strom by an 11-1 decision in the 113-pound division.
Also picking up wins were Isaac Haman (defeated Trey Theobald via pinfall at 145 pounds), Patrick Kennedy (defeated Hunter Jennings via pinfall at 145 pounds) and Aaron Berge (defeated Ethan Otterbein by majority decision at 195 pounds).
