Mother Nature wins at Chateau Speedway

A stray shower that brushed the track about 5 p.m. was just enough to stop Chateau Speedway powered by Garlick’s Water from racing on Friday Night.

The track was scheduled to host the Minnesota Micro Sprint Class which travels the region. They had also been scheduled to be a part of the two-night season opener that was washed away the beginning of May.

They were able to reschedule but weather stopped them from making their first appearance at the track. It was supposed to be the first of two weeks of Sprint Car action as this Friday night the track will host the Full Size Non Wing Traditional Mid-American Renegade Sprints. It will be the first of three visits by the MARS Sprints at Lansing this summer.

The Micro Sprints have struggled with weather issues so the shower should have been no surprise. So far this year they have gotten in just four shows

Chateau will try again Friday night, as mentioned the Non Wing Traditional Mid-American Renegade Series Sprints will be on hand to bring their high powered show to Lansing.

Also on the show this week will be the USRA A and B Mods as well as the USRA Stock Cars and WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds.

In two weeks (June 24) Chateau Speedway will hold its Induction Ceremony for the third class to be inducted into the Chateau Speedway Hall of Fame. Joining the Hall will be former drivers Dick Veldman, Louis “Bud” Lomholt, Steve Sorensen, Larry Nelson, and Todd Scharkey as well as a “Legacy Inductee” Maynard White.
