Prices spike, inflation is at 8.2 percent, babies need formula

It’s not his fault that April’s rate of inflation is at 8.3 percent. It’s not his fault that gasoline is up 44 percent from a year ago. Who’s fault is it that airfares have climbed 33 percent, used cars are up 23, a hotel stay will cost 23 percent more, eggs up 23, bacon is up 18, chicken is up 16, milk up 15, coffee prices climbed 14 percent, beef 14, flour 14 and fish prices have increased 12 percent year-over-year.

Oh, and new car prices have climbed 13.2 percent, keeping the lights on will cost 11 percent more, food at home is up 10.8 percent and food away from home is up 7.2 percent. (Ladies that’s an invitation to make your husband aware of when you tell him you want to eat out tonight!)

All of the price surges have been blamed on Russia’s Vladimir Putin, Ultra-MAGA extremists and price-gouging capitalists by this administration.

However, in the mind of the guy in charge at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue he has had nothing to do with the plummeting numbers in the stock market, surging interest rates and empty new and used car lots around the nation or the billions of dollars that have been doled out the keep Russia at bay in the Ukraine.

Diesel and gasoline have surpassed $5 and $4 a gallon respectively.

I do believe his mantra was “Build Back Better” during his campaign for positioned behind the the chair Resolute Desk in the Oval Office.

However, to date he has not built anything. America is not better off that we were before he was inaugurated. And, things are not better in Kasson, Washington, D.C. or anywhere else in these United States of America.

Never did I think it would be nearly impossible for new parents to find formula for their newborn. It is.

So, when the stock market’s numbers plummet any further than the $1 trillion already lost, whom will the president blame? Will Vladimir Putin, the Republicans, Elon Musk or MAGA be at fault? Wait, Trump is not the president.

Democrats, not MAGA Republicans or regular Republicans, have a majority in the House of Representatives, and 51 votes in the U.S. Senate if Vice President Harris has to vote to break a tie. And, if I recall Musk is a Libertarian. And of course, Old Vlad is trying to rebuild the former Soviet Union — he has no vote in American policy.

After all of this, I believe it’s clear to every American who is responsible for the decline in our economy, and soaring prices all around.

Keep this in mind when going to the primary polls on Tuesday, May 24.

THE PARTY

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”

George Orwell, 1984
