Business is booming in Kasson

We have a story on the front page of this week’s DCI about the successful opening of the Chaotic Good Brewing Co. taproom in the former Kasson car wash building. The taproom, which includes pizza ovens, opened for business at the location on November 15.

Scott Stroh is the owner of the business and said he chose Kasson as the location for his business because from a business standpoint it made sense as it is the only brewery between Owatonna and Rochester. But also because Kasson is his home and “it’s a good, close-knit community.”

The opening of the taproom as well as other new businesses in Kasson and also in other parts of Dodge County, show that despite the continuing challenges business is good here.

It has also been announced that another Kwik Trip will be opening in Kasson next year and will be open 24 hours a day, have a car wash and add another 20 to 25 jobs to the community.

A rather unique business set-up, according to Kasson‘s community development director Ian Albers, is that a two-stores-in-one Family Dollar and Tree will also be opening next year.

The Family Dollar will also hire 20 staff members, some part-time and some full-time.

Add that to the opening Johnson’s General Store in October and the anticipated opening of the child care center that will fill all the spaces at the former Shopko on Mantorville Avenue and it is obvious that Kasson, and Dodge County, is a good place to do business.

As more and more people find that Kasson, Mantorville and the other communities in Dodge County are good places to live and raise a family, more and more businesses will find the area is also a good place to locate.
