While in College, he met the love of his life, Rosann Lucille Hoffmann. On September 6, 1954, they were united in marriage. The couple made their home in Sherburn Minn. where they raised their family while he was employed at and later managed and owned the family hardware store. After the hardware store was closed, he continued his career in the accounting department at NuWay Coop in Trimont, retiring in 2001.

They moved to their home in Kasson in 2007.

While at the hardware store he sponsored a bowling team for the Bowling League at the Sherburn Bowling Alley. He was a lifelong member of St. Luke’s KCs and later a member of Kasson/Byron KCs. He served for 21 years as a member and officer of the Sherburn Fire Dept and Ambulance Squad. He was elected to and served for nine years as a director and officer of the Sherburn-Dunnell Board of Education.

He bestowed upon his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren many of his hand carved items, including wooden spoons, figurines and Christmas ornaments, which are a cherished reminder of his love for them. He loved traveling to visit his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was able to enjoy many special vacations over the years.

He is survived by his five children: Robert H. Jr. (Linda) Yurcek of Madelia, James J. (Ann) Yurcek of Lancaster, Wis., Catherine A Schultz (Mark Johnson) of Rochester, Diane M.
