Patricia Louise Schweiger, 83, Hayfield

Patricia Louise Schweiger, 83, of Hayfield, MN passed away while surrounded by family on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Fieldcrest Care Center in Hayfield, MN.

Patricia was born on September 22, 1939, in Osage, IA to James and Zelma (Green) Palmer. She started her life in New Haven, IA where faith and family were in abundance. She attended and graduated from St Mary’s Catholic School in New Haven, IA. On October 23, 1957, she married Clayton J. Schweiger and together they were blessed with 6 children.

Patricia enjoyed taking care of others, especially her family. She was known to cook a good meal, mix a good drink and make you feel welcomed in her home. She had a love for fishing, finding peace on the lake or on the bank of a river. Over the years, she chose to live either with or nearby her children, helping to raise her young grandchildren. In later years, Patricia found joy in garage sales, both buying and selling treasures. Her final years were at Fieldcrest Care Center, where she loved the staff that cared for her so well. She shared her love of crafts and the game of bingo with everyone there.

Patricia is survived by her children, Tony (Brenda) Schweiger of Charles City, IA; Deborah (Marcus) Pratt of Waterloo, IA; Karen Schweiger of Rochester, MN; Doug (Vicki) Schweiger of Dodge Center, MN; Allen (Scott Haring) Palmer Schweiger of Pensacola, FL; 10 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Granddaughter. She is also survived by Sister-in-Law Betty Palmer (MN); Sister Beverly Bryan (WI), Brother Jerome Palmer (MO) and Sister Charlene (John) Samolewicz (PA).

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Craig Schweiger, her Brothers Johnny Palmer, Paul Palmer and Brother-in-Law Frank Bryan. Angels awaited her arrival.

A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at St. Peters Catholic Church, 2985 360th St in New Haven, Iowa.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be in St. Peters Cemetery in New Haven, Iowa.
