Patricia L. Coy, 85, Mantorville

Patricia Lomas Coy died peacefully, surrounded by her family at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, MN the evening of February 9, 2023. She died after a long struggle with hepatic encephalopathy.

Patricia was born in Berwyn, IL on June 18, 1937 to Arthur and Mildred Lomas, attended Lyons Township High School and graduated from North Central College, Naperville, IL. Pat married her college classmate, George J. Coy, on June 15, 1957 in Naperville.

Pat was a retiree of Mayo Clinic in Rochester. She also taught piano from her home for over 40 years. She is widely known for her talent and patience as a teacher of “beginner piano students”. Pat has lived in the Berne/Mantorville community since 1976 and is a long-time member of the Zwingli United Church of Christ.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, brother Bill Lomas, son Timothy Coy and grandson Wyatt Coy. She is survived by her husband George, her children Tamara (Eric) Strand, Michele Umsted, Colleen Herzog and Matthew (Michelle) Coy, nine grandchildren and a growing number of great-grandchildren.

Private interment services are planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be directed to the Wyatt M. Coy Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Rochester Area Foundation, 12 Elton Hills Dr. Rochester, MN. 55901. (507-282-0203)
