Nancy Lee Stromback, 89 of Park Rapids, MN, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the Essentia Health Care in Fargo, North Dakota.
Nancy Lee Bennett was born on June 12, 1933 in Minneapolis, MN the daughter of William and Pearl (Crotteau) Bennett. She grew up and attended school in Minneapolis and also Zumbrota. She was united in marriage to Larry D. Stromback on March 17, 1951 in Zumbrota, MN. They moved to Oceanside, California after Larry enlisted to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952 until 1954. They returned to Pine Island, MN where they lived prior to moving to Mantorville, MN where they lived and operated a Mobil Gas Station and Bulk Oil Service for 16 years. They moved to Park Rapids in 1975 where she has resided since. Larry passed away in 2007. Nancy worked as a med aid for the Zumbrota Hospital, the Maple Manor Nursing Home in Rochester and the Sunset/Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids, MN, retiring in 1995. She has been a longtime faithful member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids, MN. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning, crocheting and doll collecting.
Mom was always loving, caring, she was spunky & on the go until the end. She was a wonderful cook.
She is survived by her five children – Dennis (Betty) Stromback of Zumbrota, MN; Randy (Rhonda) Stromback of Menomonie, WI; Toni Becker of Park Rapids, MN; Tammy (Gary) Mackner of Peshastin, WA; Jodi Guchow of Park Rapids, MN; Her grandchildren – Jennifer, Larry, Rev. Dennis, Jason, Lisa, Stacy, Amy, Leah, Christine, Dr. Dennis, Joshua, Nancy, Brian, Jamie and Sarah. 34 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter due in June. Her two siblings – Jackie Stromback of Brainerd and David Thoreson of Sarona,WI. Many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband – Larry; 2 great grandchildren, her siblings – Dorothy, Laura, Mary, Bill, Delores, Pete, Melvin, Daniel, Vincent, Harvey, Evelyn and Ruby.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids, MN. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. Friends may leave online condolences at ceasefuneralhome.com.
