Gail Loree Paulson, 65, Austin

Gail Loree Paulson, 65, of Austin, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus in Rochester.

She was born July 29, 1955, in Owatonna, the daughter of Gustav “LeRoy” and Helen (Knippel) Paulson. Gail loved her family, getting together for holidays and birthdays. Her smile and contagious joy always lit up the room.

Gail’s faith was important to her. She was a member of Faith Community Church in West Concord. Gail was a hard worker and thoroughly enjoyed her job of 46 years at Cedar Valley Services. There she worked on the assembly line packaging items for Hormel. Gail gained multiple friends and found great joy in her work.

She previously worked at the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center and the local movie theater in Austin. Gail lived in a group home in Austin where she loved the staff and her roommates. She enjoyed watching TV and movies, playing Bingo, bowling, singing, going out to eat, and attending dances for all occasions.

She is survived by her sister, Crystal “Chris” Kopp of Rochester; twin brother, Greg (Beverly) Paulson of Palisade, Minn.; nieces, Jaymee (Brandon) Davidson and Stacey (Derek) Moore; great-nephews, Bentley and Cameron; great-niece, Jane; one future great-nephew;  many cousins, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Helen; infant sister and infant great-nephew, Jakob.

Visitation will be at Faith Community Church on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, from 4 - 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 8, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Faith Community Church with Pastor David Breederland officiating. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center.

Memorials are preferred to Gail’s family to be directed to an organization of their choice. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed online at: https://www.wearelivetoday.com/gail-paulson.

Gail was a beautiful creation made with perfection in God’s image. Her last gift to the world was becoming an organ donor. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus for their special care of Gail over the last few years and to Lifesource for their support throughout the donation process.
