Elaine Rose Rud, 90, Kasson

Elaine Rose Rud, 90, of Kasson, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at her home.

Elaine was born on Nov. 8, 1930 to Emil and Ragna (Lee) Asleson in Ambrose, N.D. She attended Oak Grove High School in Fargo, N.D.

After high school she attended college in Minot, N.D .and in Williston, N.D. She went on to work in civil service for the United States Air Force in California and North Dakota. She moved back to North Dakota in 1977 to take care of her parents.

In 2003, she moved to her home in Kasson. 

Elaine enjoyed art, painting, and silversmithing. She also loved to play the piano and sing. She will be deeply missed. 

Elaine is survived by her children, Linda (Tom) Carpenter of Kasson, Arlen Rud of Kasson, and Judy Rud of Kasson; grandchildren, Marilyn Crossfield, Michael (Elizabeth) Carpenter, and Jonathan (Carrie) Carpenter; great-grandchildren, Emily Crossfield, Zaylie Crossfield, Jonah Carpenter, Luke Carpenter, Isaac Carpenter and Noah Carpenter; sisters, Betty Foster of Creston, British Columbia and Mary Lee Rose of Kasson. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Idell Steller; and grand-son-in-law, Jeff Crossfield. 

A private family service has been held at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes in Kasson with Pastor Nirmala Reinschmidt officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Kasson.
