Blaine Miller Halvorson, 27, Ridgeland, S.C.
Blaine Miller Halvorson, 27, was born April 18, 1994 in Rochester. He passed away on September 12, 2021 following a tragic semi-truck vs. pedestrian accident on September 8, 2021.
During the accident, he saved the love of his life, Ashley Miller Halvorson and with his passing saved others through organ donation.
Blaine was a 2012 graduate of Kasson Mantorville High School and was a dedicated employee at the Crossroads Hy-Vee.
In middle school, he recognized his desire to become a Marine and serve others. He left for Boot Camp at Camp Pendleton, Calif. two weeks after his high school graduation. As a combat engineer, he was stationed in North and South Carolina, Japan, and California. He had the honor to be selected as a Marine Security Guard (MSG) and protected U.S. Embassies in Africa and China.
Recently promoted to Gunnery Sergeant, his final honor for his MSG duty was to return to Quantico, VA. and train others to follow in his footsteps.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ashley, of Ridgeland, South Carolina, his parents, Jerry and Melissa Halvorson of Kasson; sister Mickaela Halvorson of Kasson; grandmothers Suze Anderson of Byron and Judy Hughes of Waterloo, Iowa; 21 aunts and uncles; numerous cousins, and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Dick and Ceil Halvorson of Stewartville and Gary Hughes of Waterloo, Iowa.
Full military services will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery Semper Fi.
