Wildcat girls win; boys’ team defeated

Both the boys’ and girls’ Dodge County Wildcats were in action Saturday night, with the girls’ team chalking up a win and the boys’ team losing their game.

The girls’ team to Riverside Ice Arena in Moose Lake where they defeated the Moose Lake Area Rebels by a 5-1 score.

Dodge County scored twice in the first period, twice in the second and once in the third period. Moose Lake got their only score in the first period.

Eliza Dinatale accounted for two of the Wildcats’ points scoring once in the first period and again in the second. Lyndi Schubert had the first goal in the first period, Natalie Ahern scored in the second and Halle Determan in the third.

Sky Hughes was in the net as the goalie deflecting 18 of 19 shots on goal. The only penalty in the game was a minor by Moose Lake in the second period.

The Wildcats are 2-1 for the season. They were scheduled to play Hopkins/St. Louis Park Tuesday night at the Dodge County Ice Arena. Their next game will be against New Prague Saturday, Jan. 30, at 3 p.m. at the Dodge County Ice Arena.

The boys’ team did not fare as well Saturday, traveling to Maple Grove Community Center where they lost their game by a 12-1 score.

Maple Grove dominated the action, scoring four times in the first period, six in the second and twice in the third before Brody Lamb got the puck in Maple Groves’ net for the Wildcats only score.

Maple Grove had 46 shots on goal against Wildcat goalie Isaac Dale. There were three penalties in the game all by Maple Grove.

Dodge County is 0-1-1 for the season. They were scheduled to play Tuesday night in Hopkina.

Their next game is Saturday, Jan. 30, at New Prague.
