K-M softballers make good playoff run
Kasson-Mantorville’s softball team outlasted Red Wing, 4-2, on Tuesday, May 31, in the Section 1AAA Elimination Semifinals at Austin’s Todd Park. That moved K-M to the Elimination bracket final game versus Byron, where the Lady KoMets prevailed over the Bears, 4-0. The victory entitled K-M to take on Winona, Thursday, June 2, in the Section 1AAA Final. It was the Winhawks who emerged triumphant in this one, by a final tally of 4-1.
Red Wing Game: Kasson-Mantorville ran off with the lead late in the game in a 4-2 victory over Red Wing on Tuesday. The game was tied at two batting in the bottom of the sixth when Ella Babcock singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs. Babcock was the winning pitcher for K-M. She surrendered two runs on three hits over seven innings, striking out 12.
