Hayfield boys capture second consecutive Section 1A title

Hayfield’s Vikings hardcourt boys secured their second consecutive Section 1A title last Thursday, March 17, when they took out Goodhue, 53-42, at the Mayo Civic Arena. Precision was paramount for the Vikings, as they grabbed the victory with just 29 shot attempts.

“Ethan Pack made his first (four) threes, including three in the first half, that got us going. One of our keys to the game was getting ahead early and not letting them shorten the game, and we did just that. Ethan hit a three on the first possession and we never trailed. Zander Jacobson had a big first half, with 10-of-his-12 points and 9-of-his-10 rebounds before half-time. He fouled out with just under seven minutes left in the game.
