Girls' basketball

Hayfield’s girls basketball team earned their way to the Section 1A quarterfinal round, following a 93-39 victory over LeRoy-Ostrander on Thursday, February 23, in the opening round of the tournament.

Byron girls tripped-up by Tigers

The Byron girls basketball team finished regular season play on Friday, February 24, and they fell to Stewartville, 81-62. With the loss, the Lady Bears now sit at 14-12 overall and right in the middle of the Hiawatha Valley Gold Division Conference.

Lady KoMets come up short

The Kasson-Mantorville girls basketball team lost a nail-biter last week. On Monday, February 20, the girls battled a good New Prague team, and the Trojans emerged victorious, 65-64.

playoffs

The Triton girls basketball team fell to Lake City in a good battle, 56-46, on Thursday, February 23, in Section 1AA first round action. That puts the Cobras at 10-17 on the season.
