KoMets soccer girls fall to Eagles
The Kasson-Mantorville girls soccer team lost to a powerful Rochester Lourdes squad, 3-1, last Thursday, September 15.
Lourdes is loaded with high-caliber players throughout the lineup, all with good, technical skills and all very fast in the channels…and they are ranked 5th in the State.
“We managed our players well and kept the demand on them as low as we could, to compensate for the talent deficit we were facing. The first 10 minutes we were nervous and not composed and we gave away a penalty kick to go down 0-2,” said Coach Rick Barnhill.
The last 70 minutes was better, unfortunately in big games, the play must be clean. “You have to mentally be in the here and now and believe as a collective group that you can play without anxiety. That is difficult to achieve, but we will attempt to change the mindset that has plagued the team for a number of years in high value games,” Coach Barnhill added.
