Byron, KM girls basketball teams have rough week
Girls’ basketball teams from both Byron and Kasson-Mantorville had tough games before the Christmas break with Byron losing to Stewartville and KM to Goodhue. Teams from Hayfield and Triton had better luck with the Vikings defeating Maple River and Triton slipping by Randolph.

Byron’s Lady Bears had a rough time on the hardwood last Tuesday, December 21. Playing a back-and- forth offensive battle, Stewartville finally emerged victorious, with a 51- 46 final tally. Stats: Finnley Klunder, 3 points, (1) 3-pointer; Paige Halder, 2 points; Alexis Nelson, 6 points; Makana Schroeder, 10 points; Jaiden Simon 4 points; Rylie Schnell, 7 points, (2) 3-pointers; Emma Stork, 7 points; Kendra Harvey, 7 points. (Half-time: Stewartville, 24; Byron, 20; Free throws: Stewartville, 12-19; Byron, 8-14; Three-pointers: Stewartville, 1; Byron, 3.
KM GIRLS MEET BUZZ SAW
The Kasson-Mantorville girls basketball team lost to the undefeated Goodhue Wildcats, 87-64, last Wednesday, December 22. Aby Shubert led the KoMets in scoring, with 27 points. Makenzie Carrier, 9 points; Julia Swanson, 8 points; Ella Stoskopf, 5 points; Ella Babcock, 5 points.
