Bears, KoMets, Vikings advance in volleyball playoffs

Byron’s volleyball team looked sharp on Wednesday, October 26, when they ousted Albert Lea, 3-0, in the Section 1AAA volleyball quarterfinal round. Set scores were 25-21, 25-21, and 25-14.

KoMets volleyball team through the quarters

KASSON — Ella Babcock and crew swept Austin, 3-0, on Wednesday, October 26, in the Section 1AAA Minnesota volleyball quarterfinal round. The KoMets (22-8) swept the Packers (4-19) 25-22, 25-17, and 25-8. When this article is printed, the KoMets will have advanced to the section semifinals on Tuesday, November 1. They would have battled either fourth-seeded Faribault or fifth-seeded Red Wing that night.

Vikings volleyball girls sail through 2nd round

HAYFIELD — The Hayfield volleyball team was up for the task last Thursday, October 27, as they shut down Lanesboro, 3-0, in round two of the Section 1A volleyball tournament. Set scores were 25-17, 25-19, and 25-17.

Volleyball Cobras out
of playoffs

The Triton volleyball girls were defeated by the Goodhue Wildcats, 3-1, last Thursday, October 27, in the first round of the Section 1AA volleyball tournament. Seeded No. 12, the Cobras gave a valiant effort, but the No. 5-seeded Wildcats were just too much for Triton to overcome. Set scores were 21-25, 23-25, 25-11, and 20-25.
