State Theatre owner launches $100,000 GoFundMe campaign
Water damage at Kasson’s State Theatre has the business closed and owner Darin Steffl seeking community support with a $100,000 GoFundMe campaign to help pay renovation costs.
“I’m asking the community to support the theatre in any big or small way,” Steffl said.
The theatre’s roof was under repair when the July 23 storm ripped plastic away and caused rain to come into the theatre. Steffl’s insurance adjuster is scheduled to come this week to assess the damage.
Steffl has been actively renovating the State Theatre and between the purchase price and renovations, is pouring $750,000 into upgrading the theatre. He said he decided $100,000 was a suitable goal for community support of his GoFundMe campaign.
