K-M grad Nick Jurrens stays connected to area as career progresses
Nick Jurrens moved from Rochester to Kasson when he was in the fourth grade and grew up with two younger sisters. During his time as a Kasson-Mantorville student-athlete, he most enjoyed science and math classes, playing trumpet in the band, and playing football, basketball, and baseball.
During his senior year of high school, he started to focus on playing football in college and spent time in the school weight room, and worked part-time at Daniels Restaurant when they were at their main street location.
Since Nick was really invested in sports while at K-M, a highlight was Friday Night Lights. A special memory is the Homecoming game his Junior year. K-M found themselves down three touchdowns to Winona Cotter at halftime, but they turned it around in the second half. Nick was a part of several defensive stops as a safety and made several fourth-down catches as a wide receiver to extend eventual scoring drives and they came back to win the game!
