Creative Stars Academy will open March 13 in Plaza 57
Located at 301 Mantorville Ave. South, the daycare is the final tenant of Plaza 57. About a third to a half of their child care spots are reserved, so founder Jill Mertens encourages families to schedule a tour soon if they are hoping to land a spot for their little at Creative Stars Academy.
“Now that we have an opening date we’re really pushing enrollment,” Mertens said. “I highly suggest setting up a tour so we can get you signed up.”
And there’s a bonus to registering in the next two weeks, as you’ll then get the first and fourth week off from tuition. “I have a feeling if people want spots, to contact us,” Mertens said.
Mertens lives in Rochester and has a history with child-care experience, having had an in-home daycare and then later she opened her Creative Stars Academy in Rochester.
There they are “busting out at the seams,” she said. Among her goals for the future is to open another place in Rochester, and possibly to accommodate school-age children.
“Now that we’re expanding to Kasson, we’re thrilled,” she said. “We’re really excited.”
At the Kasson location, they’ll serve 88 children ages six weeks to pre-kindergarten. Five-year-olds are welcome as long as they haven’t started school.
Creative Stars Academy in Kasson will employ 25 staff, Mertens said. They currently have openings in every age group, she said, though that could soon change as interest ramps up.
“Our heart has always been to help others, and help others in the way of ‘what can we do for you?’” she said. “How can we help your family grow? How can we support you?”
“We’re all in this together. It takes a village … our ultimate goal is to help families.”
