Author Briwn Freeman is ‘Living His Dream’

On Tuesday July 19, author Brian Freeman spoke to fans of his psychological thrillers at the Kasson Library. The “meet the author” event was sponsored by a grant from the Cultural Arts Heritage Legacy Fund and has been a series provided at the library. About 30 of his readers heard excerpts from several of his books, were able to ask questions of the author and had books signed by him.

The 59-year-old Minnesota author had dreamed of writing books from a very early age. He stated he always thought of himself as a writer and completed his first novel when he was in 6th grade.

As an 8th grade student, his English teacher encouraged him to continue writing during her class. By the age of 18 he had written five novels. After college he continued to write.

But writing a novel and getting it published are two different things His early attempts were rejected by publishers. He thought maybe his writing days were over and explored other jobs. He became a director of marketing and public relations at an international law firm, but his dream of writing continued.
